About

ME

Hi, my name is Max and I’m the guy that owns this joint. I am a 14 year old kid from suburban New York.

Guitars have surrounded me throughout my life. My father and brother both play guitar along with my uncle and a few of my cousins. I began playing at the tender age of 10 on my dad’s acoustic guitar. After my dad saw that I had a genuine interest in the instrument, he sat me down and taught me a few basic chords. A few months later, I began to play full songs, my favorite of course was “Hey Joe” by Jimi Hendrix. But, for the most part, I stuck to folk music.

On my birthday, one year later, my parents gave me the gift of a lifetime: a Fender Deluxe Fat Strat. This was a huge step in my guitar playing. I was introduced to a whole new freedom; the flexibility of an electric guitar added much needed feel and finesse to my playing. The multiple effects built into my amplifier allowed me to achieve previously unheard of sounds. Rock, jazz, and funk were added to my repertoire of genres. This was one of the defining moments of my guitar playing.

FRET FIEND

The idea to create Fret Fiend originally came to me when I was actually looking for something just like it. I found a few blogs about guitars, but none of them were really interesting. The writing was so monotone and bland, that it really didn’t keep me entertained. So, you say, “What makes Fret Fiend any different?” Opinion. Fast, strong opinion. Here’s some coming your way right now…

Your mother is ugly.

BAM! What now?! Didn’t see that coming, did you. My blog is just like that… except a little more guitar-related. So get your ass to the main page and start reading!
